23 October 2023:

In Class:  Review for the Unit 1 Exam.

Due:  The More Particle Modeling Worksheet.

Homework:  Study for the Unit 1 Exam.

24 October 2023:

In Class:  Atomic Models.  (Chapter 2:1 and 2:5)

Expectations:  Students will be able to list the experiments and results of the development of the atomic model (Dalton, Thomson, Rutherford, and Schrödinger's electron cloud model).

Due:  The Tirrill Burner Lab report.

Homework:  Finish the Atomic Models Worksheet and the Atomic Models Answer Key.

25 October 2023:

No Class:  Chemistry does not meet on Wednesday.

26 October 2023:

In Class:  Atomic Structure:  protons (p⁺), neutrons (n⁰), and electrons (e^–).  (Chapter 2:1 to 2:3)

Expectations:  Students will be able to identify the mass number, atomic number, and calculate the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons in atoms and ions.

Due:  The Atomic Models Worksheet

Homework:  Finish the Atomic Structure Worksheet and the Atomic Structure Answer Key.
