Expectations:  Students will be able to carry precision through calculations and record answers to the correct number of significant figures.

In Class:  Dimensional Analysis and Metric Conversions.

Expectations:  Students will be able to carry units through calculations, use dimensional analysis to do calculations, and record answers to the correct number of significant figures.

Lab Discussion:  Discuss the Measuring and Precision Lab using this Measuring and Precision Practice Worksheet.

Expectations:  Students will be able to read instruments accurately and record the correct number of significant figures.

Due:  Significant Figure Calculations Worksheet and the Lab Equipment sheet (you do not need a formal report, just the sheet and answer the questions).

Lab 2:
Complete the data collection for the Measuring and Precision Lab.

Expectations:  Students must have a prelab completed and ready to hand in at the beginning of the lab period.
Students will be able to use and read mechanical balances and graduated cylinders and record data to the proper number of significan figures.

Lab Report:  Formal lab due on Tuesday.
