In Class:  Introduction to Hydrocarbons.  (Chapter 10:1)

Expectations:  Students will be able to name the types of organic formulas.

Due:  The Voltaic Cells and the Electrolytic Cells worksheets.

Homework:  Finish the Introduction to Hydrocarbons.  Here is the Introduction to Hydrocarbons key to help you.

9 May 2023:

In Class:  Hydrocarbon Nomenclature.  (Chapter 10:2 to 10:18)

Expectations:  Students will be able to name the types of organic formulas.

Isomerism.  (Chapter 10:5 to 10:6)

Expectations:  Students will be able to name and write formulas for branched organic compounds.

Due:  The Introduction to Hydrocarbons worksheet.

Homework:  Finish the Hydrocarbons and the Branched Isomers worksheets.

10 May 2023:

Lab 28:  Two or three final runs to standardize the NaOH solution for the Standardizing NaOH Lab.

Expectations:  Students will be able to do a titration and calculate the concentration of the unknown.

11 May 2023:

No Class:  Chemistry does not meet on Thursday.

12 May 2023:

In Class:  Functional Groups, Part I.  (Chapter 10:23 to 10:45)

Expectations:  Students will be able to identify functional groups.

Due:  The Hydrocarbons and the Branched Isomers worksheets.
