11 September 2023:

In Class:  Discuss relative density, physical changes that affect density, and phases of matter and density.
(Review Book pages 5 – 6)

Note the rare case of the density of water relative to liquid and solid phases.

Expectations:  Students will be able to calculate the density of a substance and then identify the substance.
Students will be able to predict floatation based on phases of matter and density differences.

Due:  Review book questions pages 4 and 5 (1 – 9).

Homework:  Review book questions page 7 (10 – 18).

12 September 2023:

In Class:  The Changing Environment.  (Review Book pages 7 – 9)

Expectations:  Students will be able to interpret graphs and charts that represent environmental changes.

Due:  Review book questions page 7 (10 – 18).

Homework:  Review Book page 10 (19 – 28).

13 September 2023:

No Class:  Earth Science does not meet on Wednesdays.

14 September 2023:

Lab 1:
Do the Measurement and Error Lab.

Expectations:  Students will measure to the correct precision and calculate percent error.

15 September 2023:

In Class:  Human Interaction with the Environment.  (Review Book pages 11 – 12)

Expectations:  Students will be able to cite the effects of humans and pollution on natural resources and the environment.

Due:  Review Book page 10 (19 – 28).

Homework:  Finish Review Book page 12 (29 – 39).  Begin Practice Questions pages 13-16 (1 – 38).
