5 September 2023:

No Class:  Teacher in-service day.

6 September 2023:

In Class:  Books, Class Expectations, and the Course Syllabus.

Expectations:  Students will keep the expectations and syllabus in their notes for future reference.

7 September 2023:

In Class:  From Veritassium:  The Science of Thinking and The Most Common Cognitive Bias

Expectations:  Students will be able to explain the two systems in the brain and what questions should be asked in science.

Homework:  Finish The Science of Thinking and The Most Common Cognitive Bias worksheets.

8 September 2023:

In Class:  Branches of earth science:  geology, astronomy, meteorology, and oceanography; measurement and precision; and percent error.

Expectations:  Students will be able to list the four branches write numbers to the correct precision, and solve percent error problems.

Due:  The Science of Thinking and The Most Common Cognitive Bias worksheets.

Homework:  Review book questions pages 4 and 5 (1 – 9).
