26 September 2022:

In Class:  Finding Resultants of Perpendicular Components Algebraically.

  • Expectations:  Students will be able to solve for resultants of perpendicular components.

    Lab 2a:
    Finish the Orienteering Lab (graphical vectors) Part a.

    Expectations:  Students will solve for the resultant of vectors graphically.

    Due:  Pages 1:143-144 ( 78 – 81 ).

    Homework:  Pages 1:144-146 ( 82 – 94 ).

    27 September 2022:

    In Class:  Resolving a Vector into Vertical and Horizontal Components.

  • Ay = A sin θ
    Ax = A cos θ
  • A = Any vector
    Ay = Vertical component of A
    Ax = Horizontal component of A
    θ = Angle from A to horizontal

  • Expectations:  Students will be able to resolve a vector into vertical and horizontal components algebraically.

    28 September 2022:

    Expectations:  Students will be able to solve for the force required to achieve equilibrium given a single vector or perpendicular components.

    Due:  Pages 1:147-148 ( 95 – 101 ).

    Homework:  Pages 1:148-149 ( 102 – 105 ).

    29 September 2022:

    No Class:  Physics does not meet on Thursday.

    30 September 2022:

    In Class:  Newton's First Law:  The Law of Inertia.

    Expectations:  Students will be able to predict the motion of objects and identify which object have greater inertia.

    Due:  Pages 1:148-149 ( 102 – 105 ).

    Homework:  Pages 1:149-150 (106 – 112).
