6 September 2016:

In Class:  Hand out books and discuss the Class Expectations, and discuss some introductory study habits.

Homework:  Read pages 4-15 in the text.

7 September 2016:

In Class:  Discuss vocabulary (Section 1-1, page 4) and
Investment percents:  [(individual investment) / (total invested)] * 100
Shares owned (x) from percent:  (percent as decimal) * (total number of shares) = x
Individual investment from ratio:  (Σ_{(total of ratio numbers)} * (x) = (total investments)

8 September 2016:

In Class:  Discuss vocabulary (Section 1-2, page 9) and
Differece between high and low:  (high) – (low)
Convert shares in 100s to shares in 1000s:  [(shares in 100s) * 100] / 1000
Find previous day closing price (x):  x + change = close
Change as percent:  [(current price – previous price) / (previous price)] * 100
Practice calculating cells in a spreadsheet (Example 6 on page 13)

Homework:  Problems page 15 (12 – 16).
